Dining in Cagayan de Oro at Sentro 1850

I have sooooooo much backlog to write about especially that recent fun trip to Hongkong but hopefully I’ll get around to posting it soon. Meanwhile, I took photos of my recent trip to Cagayan de Oro last January 30 and couldn’t help but rave again and again on Sentro 1850!

Dining in Cagayan de Oro at Sentro 1850

As far as I can remember, the place opened when I was still in college and the gang would hang out there between classes because it was just a three-block walk away from the school (Xavier University). We hung out there so much the guard would always have a parking spot for us and the waiters practically memorized our favorite orders. I guess I’m trying to say that if you love fusion food and dining, you’d practically live in Sentro 1850.

cdo in august

I’m bake!

Hahaha. What’s what I texted my friends in Cebu when I got back from CDO. I’m back in the City of the South – back to eating out, taking out, dining out, making out, cabbies, motorela-free roads and huge malls. Sigh.

I just got back from my hometown that not only has changed so much since I left it last May but also the people in it. I cannot believe the crowd all over the place – whether at the mall, in Divisoria or gasp at the Muslim DVD stalls! Because it’s the week before fiesta you would think Kagay-anons are very much cooped at home trying to come up with pre-fiesta plans but no– they are all over the city so much I wonder who is watching over their houses.

On Friday, my mom had family over for lunch and I had Hector and Jay come over too. The guys are looking great. Hector was on a diet – eew, I guess his new love has got something to do with it. They have been regaling me with stories of yore when all I ever wanted to hear were stories of people they are with right now and how everyone else is doing. Hector of course has a new girlfriend which I have yet to meet. Jay had been busy with his garden. He has been preoccupied with his plants and strawberries to care about anyone else’s business.

Me: Jay, you are useless. You don’t have chismis for me.
Jay: Who has time for chismis? They’d be talking all about me anyway once I’m in PDA.

Diba.

Hec had to leave so Jay and I went to Limketkai Mall to walk around and the shoulder-to-shoulder slew of the people didn’t appeal to either any of us which is why we had to go home so I could prepare for going to Xavier Chapel for Mom’s Thanksgiving Mass. She is by the way, a Golden Girl. Whoop de woop to you Mrs.

Dinner was at Pryce Plaza Hotel with family and Mom’s friends where everybody was given food certificates for the night. Sigh. I had Hector, Sobie, Jay and Jb follow at the hotel but it was raining so we met at Site where I also saw James Jaro and his ‘very important’ friend from Dapitan rumored to be into businesses similar with jueteng. Ooh how exciting. James is raking so much he was driving a Toyota Fortuner. Whoa. Heavy gawsy! :) Let’s trade cars! Hahahaha. Continue reading »
