The last Caribbean Party I’ve been to that was held at a bar was at The Site in Cagayan de Oro where they, too, placed white sand all over the venue. Tiki torches and small palm trees added much to the beachy-feel of the place making you feel like you are just partying at the beach minus um, the ocean! Last May 22, the Havaianas Urban Beach Party was just like it and more! The sand sculpture was my favorite.

There was Capoeira and fire dancing, of course. The place was draped in layers of white and Detalia Aurora was ambience found in chic furniture! Formo was really transformed that night.

Your very own summer soiree couldn’t pass up the chance to be with the cesses and of course, enjoy the overflowing Mojitos, Tribo Manila, and our Havaianas flip-floats!

I didn’t know about the rest of Cebu but I like the DJ last Saturday night at Formo’s 2^nd year anniversary. They were serving Smirnoff and SMLs and Tonics and I was hazy from the disco balls of yore. Gaah. We were there at 10pm – too early for the posse. Gwen doesn’t seem to think so and wanted to go to Vudu and of course at 11pm, we, plus two other groups were seated and listening to RNB until the whole place flooded with people at 2am.

Perhaps they will just account on how fun that weekend was. We went to Loft after, too.

It doesn’t even feel right to talk about the whole thing because I was sick last weekend and the whole health issue culminated to me being admitted in the hospital. After 48 years in Cebu, my lungs finally gave up on me. I’ve been complacent about my asthma since June. That’s what I got for being so – hospital bills and a panicky dad.

Monday afternoon I went to Chong Hua, Cebu Doc and Perpetual and I do not know why but all of Cebu decided to be sick that day and all rooms were full. A friend went with me. No biggie. He stayed and played watcher for two days. Now that was big.

He made me realize something else, too, when he went, “You have a lot of friends and none of them can even stay here and watch over you?”

Oh my. Oh my. I must have done something wrong again this time. Sigh. Let me just console myself with a little of my Pablo Neruda.

I’m okay now. Everything is in working order. ? I’m back to the world, I’ve come back to the world, and the world is kind enough to welcome me back. ? ? ?

Off to go see A Love Story in Ayala! Woot!

I am actually in an environment where they take work seriously which probably is the cause of all my emphysema attacks. Excuse me, we are not here to coddle you. Do your job and don’t make us feel sorry if you don’t. Sell! Sell! Sell! Slash your wrists! Graveyard now is my life and I can feel my eye cream giving up on me and my pores growing the size of Marco Polo.

I’ve been getting on that bike since last week’s date and no, you can’t relax. My back is strained from all that leaning and just when I joked about, “Babe, I shouldn’t be needing all that makeup. The dust makes my compact dull in comparison and the smoke fumes hot for the smoky look,” he went, “I should get you a new helmet then.”

Uh, ack? New helmet equals investment. Iskkerrri. I can buy a helmet for myself, thank you, and not just because I’m constantly on that monster. Hihi. Prolly a helmet with glitters and a hot pink feather boa and a scarf with the logo of LV to hold back my hair. Aaaahh. Ang arte.

I had fun last Saturday with the girls Sheila, Jorj, Quennie, Tony, and Karo and thanks to my 24 year old body I can still stay up for 24 hours and not feel guilty about it. I also need all the pictures I can get because by the time I reach the age where my knees no longer cannot take sashaying to Kaskade, then at least I can show my grandchildren that I didn’t have trouble doing it before. Sunday was shopping at Paseo with the Biker and Syke’s for cakes, shakes, and Wifi.

Thanks to the new people I meet, my weekends are full. I meet people everyday ahlavet… and yes, I’ve changed my perception of people’s personalities: Some of them are ALL THE SAME but with different pore regions on their cheeks. I’m certain of that. By the way, the only thing constant in this world is garbage. Bassuurraa. It never, ever, goes away.

So I think I’m full of myself. Yeah? You, think? Like this?

Hmm. That’s me. Just happy, and confident, and geeky and gay?

Spread the love, guys. Spread it with lavanders, and rainbows and tulips and skipping and laughing hard even if your asthma keeps you from roaring from your chest.

There was a farewell party at my teammate Ciara’s house Saturday night and everybody didn’t notice I came late because the men were pretty much hammered and the girls were trying hard to get a last minute attempt to seduce my former supervisor.

At 1am I left the village and followed where Sig, Quennie, Tina, Pau and the rest of the girls were at Loft.

The place was packed with screaming Prom girls decked in tulle, satin and corsages. The boys were aww… cute. More at Q’s.

Next stop was at Paseo, the new night market and entertainment center in F. Cabahug St. Mabolo, Cebu – Mango Square relived with a little shopping on the side. There has to be an equilibrium of the Kasaja crowd that don’t mind getting packed every weekend.

Last stop was at Starbucks with the girls and girly drinks and girly conversation that includes: why Tina’s boi  came upstairs to Loft with a girl, the Flamingo crowd at Paseo, why Mr. Hall wasn’t with the Flamingo that night, why IT park is the only place alive at 5am and *cough * men* cough*.

The entire Sunday was spent with Hunhun who was in Cebu with friends just for the day. I might be in CDO next weekend which means I might be missing this!
