Just wanted to share with you some of what transpired in the last quarter of 2010. It was merry and it was a go-round.

Jay and some friends from CDO went to Cebu. They were lucky to have experienced The Taproom in Banilad before it was changed to a wine bar.

Miss Cebu 2011 Coronation Night This Wednesday, Jan 12

by Kristine Roa | 879 views

This is it, guys! This Wednesday, January 12, only one out of twelve (12) candidates will be crowned Miss Cebu 2011! Is it Panyang? Vanessa? Kerrie? Or Rose? The anticipation is soooooo thick everyone is sooooo psyched! See posters for more deets.

A little trivia about Miss Cebu 2011 - the newly crowned Miss Cebu will be wearing a brand-new Miss Cebu crown, designed by no less than the first-ever Miss Cebu winner in 1984, Janice Bañez-Minor. The intricate headpiece, a marked improvement from the crown that the winners from 2003-2010 wore, is encrusted with rhinestones and Swarovski crystals.

You can hardly find designer gemstone jewelry in the city but this 2011 crown will be the first of its kind replacing . The headpiece glittering with rhinestones and high-grade Swarovski crystals was produced by Minor’s team in her factory in Lapu-Lapu City.

Minor set up Janice Minor Export Inc. in 1988. The company, which she runs with husband Paul, is a “pioneer in using mixed media” and currently exports orders to Europe, America, the Middle East and key Asian cities.

The crown’s core is shaped by hand from brass. Rhinestones were welded in place and carefully soldered with Swarovski crystals. Swarovski crystals shaped as teardrops and balls, 25 millimeter in diameter, dangle on the crown. Perhaps we are going to be seeing diamond dangle earrings in the future, yes?

A good three blocks away from our office in IT Park lies bread heaven.

I’ve always been a carb-lover, a pan de sal hoarder, and a breadwhore. It does seem weird when hearing the word “bread” sounds so orgasmic.
