The Male Factor Screening and Show at Teatro Casino

When my stylist friend Yves was commissioned to join the organizers of the Male Factor Fashion show, he immediately asked me to help the screening of 100 male models in the city at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino Teatro Casino. A few weeks before the actual show, I found myself seated with Maron Alcasid, Yves Camingue, Kristine Roa, Danny Booc, and Chyrel Gomez as the panel of judges who will screen the male models. Teatro Casino looked different on any other setting though especially when you are used to seeing it all glammed up. The staff were very accommodating though and understood that since we were going as people from the media they did not put those ugly stickers on your camera’s lenses. Would you really take photos of people immersed in their blackjack games ?

Styling With Charm Jewelry

Long chains have been gracing women’s necks since time memorial and the Bohemian look inspired those wooden beads so much you’d think everyone is an environment advocate. However, it doesn’t always mean that all women are capable of pulling off adorning jewelry and becoming the best models for it. Not everybody is built the same as those miniature mannequins that are showcased in stores displaying necklaces for sale. Any more attention to a large chest does say you are in dire need of attention.
Statement pieces also makes up your entire outfit even if you are just wearing an ordinary white t-shirt.
The longer, the better; short is best. Anything that falls short between your décolletage and belly screams, “Hello, if my chest isn’t high enough, this necklace would fall flat.”
Size matters. Huge, chunky beads might as well replace your cleavage. Leave those ballsy shapes to your ears, they’re better off dangling there.
Lauriat necklaces and chokers are cute and sweet. They usually come in chains and have larger pendants that vary in design.
If you layer, layer it long. Continue reading »

A DIY Attempt: Embellished Gloves

This isn’t difficult, really. All I had was:

A pair of black gloves
A needle
Black thread
Pins
Faux pearls

I can’t really see myself in leather so I got the cotton-type gloves that are usually used for weddings. I got lucky, too, when I had a handful of pearls, beads and sequins that can be sewn on them.

The best part about doing this is that you can totally customize the look of each glove – who cares if they don’t match! :) I got to use this at the Christmas dinner we had at the Alejandro’s with the department.  Continue reading »
