Little overwhelmed at Feria
The boyfriend and I celebrated something a few weeks ago. Perhaps it was the joyeux thrill of another month, another week and another lifetime to be together or the excitement of engorging on a full course buffet meal but there really was no anniversaire nor birthday that night. It was even 5 months before our official 3rd year anniversary but who is to say we cannot celebrate our anniversary everyday, every weekend or every month, amirite?

There are so many things we could have done on that particular Sunday like sit on our asses for hours to watch dvds, just be lazy in bed or declare bankruptcy from Mcdonalds so they’d send us free food. Whatever. I love a good spontaneous meal once in a while – not planned. But I didn’t except a full course buffet, too. Yes, the boyfriend likes to surprise sometimes. Radisson Blu’s restaurant, Feria, is overflowing with carbs, calories and cholestorel. And that is just saying that the glass is half-empty. It would be an understatement if you say the food is underwhelming. Continue reading »

Oi, Hoyohoy!
The setting was only 3 hours away by land and an hour away by water but nonetheless. I realized that cheap holiday deals like this, regardless if they are within a stone’s throw away from your comfort zone, should be celebrated, treasured and valued.
Going to Bantayan Island the week before the Holy Week madness was probably the best idea we had ever came up with in the history of our travelling life! The island was quiet, everything sold was still reasonably priced and practically almost all of the places were not crowded. We have travelled from Cebu to Bantayan before but this was the first time that we didn’t bring a car. At 6am in the morning, we hopped on the first Daanbantayan bus we could find at the North Bus Terminal and arrived at the terminal after 3 hours. Bus – P125 Barge - P150.

“I love CEBU!” says Moony
We caught a glimpse of her at 1am and the crowd was already giddy with anticipation. DJ Patrick Rizarri (I’m still not used to the DJ title, Paticoy!) entertained Cebu and heightened everyone’s spirits before international songwriter and vocal artist Moony showed up onstage. Good thing I asked because Moony’s concert aka Black Light Costume Ball required everyone to show up in clothes that reflect the “black light.” Yes – no to blacks.

Please read excerpt of published article at the Freeman last week:
She’s the entire concert. She sang, danced, cooed, swayed, gyrated and transported us back to the days in the 90s when we were playing Dove in repeat mode until our CDs wore out. Like a lamp that emits electromagnetic radiation in soft ultraviolet rays, Moony indulged us with her hits from For Your Love to Lifestories with hits like Flying Away, Acrobats, Point of View and even All I Want from Angelmoon heydays.

Moony, “I love Cebu.”
