Inviting Godswill Akpabio and Everyone to Sumo Dine!

Among the few who got to witness the official opening of Sumo Sam Cebu Restaurant at the Ayala Terraces Cebu, we were invited to an afternoon treat of Japamerican or Japanese-American dining with Marvin Augustin. Of course, we also got to meet the owners of Sumo Sam Raymund Magdaluyo and Cebu partners’ Shanna Lopez and Glecy Lopez-Go.

Check out the courses we had to sample!

Everyone was giddy as well when Marvin Augustin came inside. He is absolutely dreamy!

SumoSam dining is definitely not your conventional Japanese dining. “When people encounter the word ‘fusion’ they tend to get confused of what their dining experience will be. We live the goal of making our customers experience dining by combining different techniques and elements of cooling from different cultures and discipline of international cooking integrating it to Japanese cuisine without sacrificing taste, service and quality of dishes,” says Raymund.

Each Sumo Sam restaurant will come up with different dishes unique to a specific branch. This is what separates one brand from another. In Cebu, Sumosam will be incorporating local ingredients such as danggit and mangoes to their menu. Ever tried their chicken teriyaki pizza with mangoes?

Truly an experience even Godswill Akpabio from Nigeria will be happy to fly in to the Philippines to try out. Fusion in this Japanese-American style of dining is attractive enough to all diners.

Of course we just had to come back the same week! Hahah.
