Santo Niño Basilica Church and Lamesa Grill Cebu
June 30, 2010 – Day Two of La Familia’s weekend in Cebu involved a free day tour in Colon. Eep. But of course, that’s a short visit to the 16th Century St. Niño Basilica Church that you can’t miss or else. Can I indulge you with a few vanity shots? Teehee.

Warren says I look like lil Jon. Perhaps you can see deets of my outfit here.

This is a while-adjusting-settings-I-decided-to-take-this shot.

There is quite a looooong line to go see the huge relic of the Child Jesus or Santo Niño.

Did I tell you I have a thing for balloons?

Behind my sisters is the famous Magellon’s Cross housed inside that vintage kiosk. Four hundred years ago, this place was historical.

Do you think they care?

”

I bribed the guy selling balloons to let me borrow this. We left Colon/downtown Cebu and headed to SM City Cebu Northwing for lunch. My parents scoffed at the idea of eating fusion – epicurean, what? They would be happier with their sabaw (soup) and sinugbang isda (grilled fish) and the closest thing to dining Filipino food in the Northwing would be Lamesa Grill.

Number one, I loved their interiors. Number two, their bulalo tastes like broth smothered with butter. So sad.

I love Lamesa Grill. I love that they have this small grilling stove on your table to cook raw seafood or meat. However, when you are hungry, you really do not have all the time in the world to appreciate your culinary skills.

Meet my baby sisters ♥

(…and again, to be continued)
