Nathan and Kimberley Road Hongkong

Posted in: Vacationation

March 10, 2010 — Our last day in Hongkong was entirely and solely dedicated to shop in Kowloon. Basically from Kowloon Hotel, we crossed the street to Nathan Road and walked all the way to Kimberley Road and back. By all the way, I meant aaaaaaaaaaaall the way.

We also did a pre-celebration of Warren’s birthday at this dimsum place on the 11th Floor of Chuang Jordan London Plaza. Sorry, we didn’t remember the name of the place.

I think they have the best hakaw and sio mais I’ve ever had in my entire life! The only thing close to super mega orgasmic tastiness is at Tin Gow Restaurant at Waterfront Hotel and Casino Cebu.

Love’s birthday cake. Happy 29th!

While they were eating, I made up some story about going to the bathroom and mad dashed downstairs to go look for a bakeshop. Love can’t have a birthday without cake! So I asked around in halting English and no one was able to help me! I came up to this lady and went, “Excuse me, where can I buy cake? Bakeshop?”

She looked at me first and was about to leave when I said, “No, no, CAKESHOP!” Cakeshop registered and her face lit up! “Here – go here!” She pointed to the right and I was already there before she knew it. Again, I forgot the name of the pastry shop or cake shop in that Hongkong street but I did order one of everything. Turns out they only have these flavors (see photo below) and yes, again, that Black Sesame seed heaven. I told them to hurry up because its my bestfriend’s birthday and he’s celebrating upstairs. Like how it is in movies, they panicked and speed-wrapped the box. They two women who were the only ones there handed it to me and excitedly shrieked, “Go! Go!” hahaha. Would have made for a love story, yes?

I bought a brand new 50mm lens here at some camera shop in Kimberley Road. No difference I guess. I paid Hkd$700 for it or P4,200. M got herself this coveted Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Passy GM Black tote handbag. I hope to post photos of that bag, soon. So pretty!

If you walk around the streets of Nathan and Kimberley Road in Hongkong, you wouldn’t get bored just tired. My calves were stinging already and the soles of my feet demanded cushion in the form of a foot soak in hot water with rose petals. Oh, well that’s the price of retail therapy when you are shopping in Hongkong. Since I was wearing boots, I thought of putting on socks so that it wouldn’t be that painful to walk around so I went up to the 3rd floor of Mira Mall and got three pairs of Calvin Klein socks (the other two pairs to give to the boyfriend) and put them on. The walking was tolerable but still it can’t replace those cushion-y feel of Dr. Scholls! Will be posting on our last trip to the Hongkong International Airport after this.
