Cabanlet-Ong Nuptial

I never really got to talk about my friend’s wedding that happened last year. I guess it took a while for that to sink in just as how I’m still trying to internalize another good friend of mine’s wedding. But then, do we really have all that time?

Sobie and JB go a long way back. And I’m not talking about years here. But YEARS. We were in our fourth year in high school when JB and Sobie brought on the holding hands gig and made everyone talk. I didn’t. I was too liberated for that. I gave them both a pat on the back and now that they are married, I couldn’t help but cry.

Yes, I cried at Sobie’s wedding and I’ll cry at every damn wedding that involves any of my bestest friends. What does Sobie know about getting married? She’s 27 and giggly and hides any of my stuff whenever she gets the chance. She thinks it is funny if one pair of your sandals is gone and you’d scramble around looking for it. Till now she still hides my stuff and she will forever be our darling Sobie.

Funny how we have all grown up together for eight years with you both witnessing how we your friends subscribe to happiness in failed relationships yet lest bemoan the breakups we have had to endure. But you both have always been there – together – never faltering – never breaking up – and somehow, we all knew that you both will end up here, in this church, and letting everyone realize that there is hope for the rest of us – that somehow, we all know that we would find someone to never falter with.

We love you. Continue reading »

Case 39

I find it disturbing that parents would shove their 10 year old kid inside their oven and try to *gasp* roast her alive.

But you have to watch CASE 39 to understand why they would subject themselves to being condemned by a social worker like Renee who was very much repulsed by such un-parently behavior; you’d have to understand why you want to kick yourself in the arse for watching something predictable yet still is glued to the tv screen.

What I learned during Sinulog 2010

Happy February! Sorry for the late post. Been to Cagayan de Oro again last weekend for my friend’s wedding. Will be posting that soon. Meanwhile, I just have to post my preemptive Sinulog blog.

Have anyone been ready for last month’s Sinulog festivities? Not that it requires TOO much effort to do that but when last year I attempted on  what are the essentials and the must-haves you must tote around with you come the Sinulog 2010 Mardi Gras/Street Parties, I was not really doing so much this year.

1. Stampede-ready shoes. It is highly unlikely that a stampede happens during Sinulog street parties but a stampede usually means a scream fest because a Kapamilya celebrity is waving at them from their floats.
2. Sunblock. Carry one not wear it!
3. Water. Water. Water.
4. Street-Party light. This means that the lighter, the better. If you feel the need to carry essentials such as extra t-shirts, alcohol, cotton swabs, leave them in the car. Sling or messenger bags help keep you from worrying where you last placed your stuff.
5. Camera! Even if you didn’t sign up for the Sinulog Photo Contest and paid P650 for the PRESS ID, you can still get very beautiful stills even at the sidelines and viewing decks.
6. Lipgloss. Instant retouch, anyone? :)
7. Scholl for a bunion-free life!

Boyfie pissed at being late. Teehee. Headed straight to Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) to watch Tom Woodfin’s “The Hawk” fight.
