No More Prom Nights

me084.jpgVanessa [ yez, thats her ] my 15 year old brat of a sister, called me last week because my parents were bugging her about getting a room in Pearlmont, the same venue for their prom night, and she’s having none of it.

Ate! You’ve got to tell mommy, no room! No room! NO! No!” in her brattiest voice. Of course mom was getting a room not because they’ll be spending the night over – it was really for her and her friends. Saying that was just to set her off. My mom would know — because from previous experience she knows better than to spy on her daughter on prom night and lose ten years of her life.

On the night of my junior prom, my parents went to the venue to watch – may hirit na spying – on me. Turns out at nine o’clock me and the group were already out and on our way to the beach to get ass-drunk with the boys we were with. It was during those convivial moments when some of them ended up with hickies while the others had to sleep outside their houses because their parents wouldn’t let them in. Caused quite a stir.

My senior prom had legal consent to stay up until 8 in the morning from the after party and no, no one I know lost his or her virginity that time. Only Jay who lost his cellphone somewhere in the shore… or someone almost lost a shoe.. or someone lost her sanity by swimming drunk… Omg. Prom and high school = menace. Because the school was small, it took a week for everybody to get over it – even teachers whose favorite pastime is buzz buzz chisbuzz.. and talking about that fourth year who wore a verry low cut gown.. how scandalous! *wink*

That didn’t happen to my other sister so my parents were apprehensive on this one. So far, her prom was wholesome (much to my delight and wonder?). Half of the entire junior students spent the night at the room – boys all sprawled on the floor.. Nothing amiss. Everyone went home in one piece. Ahh.. the temptation of innocent decadence… I’m so proud of her. =)
