the protocol for sleeping over
ile Typhoon Seniang gave as much shower as water drippings on a fucked up tap, it didn’t ruin any plan of every hitting the night scene in Cebu last weekend. Saturday, decked in a black trench coat and black pumps, I saw my cousin’s friend, Phillip, who was in Cebu that weekend, a basketball player from Letran (the cycle of basketball players keeps spinning) and no hook-up is ever happening because the guy’s practically a kababata. Eek. I followed at *gasp* Autoshop because he had no other choice to go, his friends dragged him there. I couldn’t stand another minute at the ghetto place so I told Doi i’m taking off. Sorry sweets, we’ll hang next time – some place else where I don’t shudder every fifteen seconds. I’m pretty sure he took it well because he called me at 6am, drunk and happy.
Besidesssss… me has a date that night, a friend of Kitumz, whom she introduced to me last Thursday at the bar. He, in all hotness, was a nursing student who was just stalling for time until he gets the result for the board exams next week. Expiration dating ..? He, in all hotness, made Kit declaim that I’d totally thank her for introducing me to him. To Kitzee, Thank you. Haha. Because you have Zizou, we get your cute male friends!
His choices ran a gamut of the following:
Venue – Pump
Clothes – tight tan shirt. Loose Levis
Drink – red horse (very kanto)
Dance – hot female
partner – other hot females!!
So the local boy from Samar (and I thought he was a Cebuano) was dancing up to his female friends and even girls who he just came across the bar while I sat on the bar drinking Coke light and wondering the entire time why I agreed to this date. I slid down to my seat and started looking for people I know. Boom. Friends of D. The big tall football players. Ack. My small frame was surrounded when I saw Samar boy inching his way towards me. I bid a hasty bye to D’s friends and went back to our table.
Oh, that will get his attention. Then he was suddenly attentive. And told me I look good. And listened while I talked and laughed at my jokes. Now we were back to our game. I turned my back to go get another drink.. and he’s gone! Out to dance with another chick! His hands were on her waist and she was whispering something to his ear. What is wrong with this guy?
So I left the table fuming and one of D’s friends sidled up to dance with me. I caught a surreptitious glance to my left and almost laughed when Samar local again was on our way to us. I ignored him until he caught my elbow and said, “Let’s go back to our table.”
I told him I’ll follow. He took one look at the size of my dance partner and didn’t argue. I came back to our table after thirty minutes and aww… he was sitting by himself acting all behaved. He said he was coming home with me that night after several kisses on my neck in front of D’s friends. I had the thing where it comes every month that puts girls out of commission for anything at all. I graciously declined and mumbled something about not being the right time to be in the house. He didn’t buy it. “Nakakainis.” He said. I was close to saying, I have my period, but bit my tongue. He might think I’m assuming that he’s sleeping with me. “So you sleep at my place.” He said which gave me another dilemma cause if I’ll go and he’ll find out, breakfast served the morning after will be frustration and worse, no ride home.
So I went home alone. Himala? You should give me a medal. Haha. He texted right after.
“Was I bad? I’m sorry if I kissed you like that.”
“Its fine.”
“I should have kissed you more. Touched you more.”
Watch out! And to think I got a cachet from Kit on his rating. Next!
————————————-
I wasn’t exactly my sparkling self that Sunday but still I donned on a tube top and a pair of Levis to go watch Happy Feet at Ayala with Jet, Jv, Mitz, Rj and Jay.
Dab on Nars Beach and watch a cute penguin singing off key and everything’s good. We drove to this small time place that serves the best chicharon bulaklak in Cebu in Mabolo for dinner. The guys were thinking of dancing and just getting all riled up with cheap entrances and pang-ukay na crowd so we went to Pump and were alarmed at the huge commotion outside.
Bouncers were separating two men apart and I happen to know one of them. He was one of Cebu’s VIPs –a nightclub habitué – and hardly the person I know who causes fights. We were watching the scene until Mitz and I can’t stand the suspense so we got out from car and watched the entire drama two meters away.
The VIP took off his shirt and started yelling at the guy he was fighting with. There were lots of screaming and chairs being thrown off until the VIP emerged from the crowd with blood coming out from his side. He was stabbed and his girlfriend was screaming for help. The policemen — Filipino’s own policemen – our very own pride – calmly helped him to the minivan that says POLICE and no one even ran to get to the wheel. They took off and after five minutes, the crowd and the bar were back to normal. Heavy.
And I saw Samar local who saw me with Jet. He suddenly morphed into this nice guy, came up to me and kissed me on the cheek.
“Who’s your date?” he asked.
I just smiled and told him I’ll see him around.
Who Mitz and I ended up hanging out with last night were guys from eTel who just came from their Christmas party from NASA. These guys have girlfriends! Seriously, what happened to having relationships and actually sticking to them? The Rocker guy (Mitz had the Chinese guy) was bummed because I wouldn’t do anything at all with him.
“What is it with guys? You get a kick out of having affairs while your girlfriends are back home thinking otherwise?”
“Don’t start with the guilt trip.”
“To hell with the guilt trip. If your girl were out with some guy right now, would that be okay with you?”
“No.”
“But it’s perfectly fine if you’re out with me tonight?”
“Of course.”
Dooshbag. Blue balls was what he got.
Mitz and I went home at 7am after ditching the men. There’s just something about girlfriends and going home empty-handed. Haha. There are really nights when it’s just worth it.
The Glamarazzi will be taking off for a while. I’m heading to Cagayan de Oro for Maureen’s last vigil on Wednesday and funeral on Thursday. It’s going to be a sad week. Chito’s wedding in Davao will be put off on Monday, too, because my leaves weren’t approved, punyeta talaga. That means PS’ Christmas party will be graced by yours truly after all. The company party imposed the dress code in full force: no backless, no tube tops, no short skirts, no see throughs – what else am I going to wear?
And Happy Birthday to my medrep. We had a regular date last night: The Marine and Taters and Starbucks. Crreeepy. Be back soonies.
Some Visualies for the swalis.
The girls and the boys
L-R: Mai with our favorite barista, Mai with Phillip

Jet THE date.
