Me turns 24!
Warning: Looonnnng POST AHEAD.
The five day routine that I was eager to break started the time I got off work at 9am. Markee, Mai, Pau and I had lunch at Don Henrico’s before I went home to go fetch the girls at Starbucks, SM at 8pm. At that time, Sobie, Barbie and Heart were already waiting – their luggae in tow –for me with tired smiles but nonetheless hearty shrieks! They looked great! We all headed home to check out my place before checking in at the hotel. We slept like babies because Heart was sick and neither Barbie nor Sobie wanted to hang out and leave her.

Heart felt better the next day but Bantayan had to be canceled. See? Jinx. Jinx. How predictable, I hate it hahaha. Cookie arrived at 6am. Plans of going out tonight went underway when Apple came over at the hotel too. I’m so ecstatic!

us at STK for grilled food
We were already dressing at 9pm and Aj, our hot driver and also Apple’s, friend was waiting at the lobby. The itinerary was to head straight to Outpost *cough* *cough* hahaha… but no, the girls were not buying the laidback, professional, yuppie kind of atmosphere. The crowd was milling either in the bar, with their friends, talking –acting normal and very much having fun. It was crowded but either people were sitting down or standing up nursing their drinks. I can just picture Cookie’s “OhmyGodgetmeoutofhereNoGuyisHarrassingme!” look. I’m like, “Get the bill. We’re sooo outta here.” I told Cookie I’d take her someplace where she’d be culture-shocked. “You’ve never been to any place like Pump.”
She’s like, “I subsist in Manila. Where else could I be culture-shocked than there?” Oh, oh. You haven’t been to Pump sweetheart. So Pump we go! Haha. We all met up with Kikit, Mitzil and Apple, Sobie, heart, Barbie, Cookie, Sarah and sweet Aj – that’s us girls with Aj – so we were all eleven. Clutching each other’s bags, we all wormed our way to the entrance and amidst the shoulder to shoulder slew of people, we were able to get tables near the stairs where the entire dance floor was a beguiling sight. I also got several declarations of love which I sometimes get from the regulars at Pump, the transvestites who used to hit on my dates and also the waiters. Cookie tried to catch my eye which I have been trying to avoid. I met her eye and she gave me a look that said, “Hm.. a natural.. one of the club’s habitues.” haha I just shook my head.

Eventually, the whole hoopla with the dancing, the flirting with the men, the drinking and the smoking –sorry pregnant Kit, tsk tsk – had to wear off at 4am so the flirt squad in skirts, leggings and tank tops ruined the concentration of the boys in Vudu for awhile but sat down for coffee outside after. We were drinking but we weren’t this drunk…!

Hahaha.. 6:00 a.m. says the clock when w’all got home.

Sunday, October 1
Barbie: “We can’t go to Bantayan, Heart is sick.”
Cookie: “Let’s go to Mactan, Shangrila. Go swimming.”
Tin: (rolling her eyes) “Let’s stay. We can’t leave anyone alone.”
Sobie: (stirring in her sleep) “Where are we going?”
Tin: “Shopping. Ayala.”
Sobie: (getting up) “Lemme shower first.”
It took three hours for everyone to get ready. I didn’t mind. Although everyone would have wanted a beach outing, well, the least Hadsan Beach in Mactan (haha) but you can always bribe me with shopping. Beach v.s. shopping = shopping hands down. Heart stayed at the hotel while the rest made Ayala even richer by going thru all their stores. Oooh, you’d love the cute pumps we got. And the girls got these blings that I forgot to take pictures of because my cam conked out. My cam is another story– that f*cking Sony that we used to love because its just sooo lovely– disappointed me soo bad. Sony = bad. Tin hates you na.
Ayala Center wears off its luster after 4 shopping hours and they wanted to check out BTC. Cookie loves it there. It reminds her so much of Cagayan de Oro. Especially Postrio. Its remniscent of Candy’s so much that Cookie, Barbie, Sarah, then Roxanne and Sasha along with their hubbies wouldn’t want to leave.. ugh, Heart = alone = hotel? Hahha.

Sarah, Cookie, Barb, Sasha and her beau @ Postrio, BTC
The girls broke off, the couples back to their nests and Cookie and Sarah and I followed where Jet, Jv, Ling, Mitz, Jay and RJ were. I just realized, besides the sickening cafes near Skyrise, that BigBucks is the only cafe open 24 hours –with internet access! Supperr. Cookie had to leave because her flight leaves at 5am. Guess who we found at the hotel at 3am before we took Cookie’s stuff? Heart and Sobie at the lobby sneaking around so that they won’t wake up Barbie! And their phones had those familiar stickers on their lenses that I had to shriek,
Me: “You’ve been to the casino!”
Sobie: (batting her eyelashes innocently) “Of course not!”
Me: “Unless you stole these stickers from Waterfront, I have a guess that you spent all your money there!”
Then they all burst out laughing. Sh*t. I wanted to go! I haven’t thought of the casino and it didn’t cross my mind that we’d actually have fun if we all went. Next time. Next time. Bye bye cookie.

Monday, October 2 10:00am.
I overslept. Mom and Dad’s flight comes in at 10am. I overslept. I madly dashed home from the hotel to shower and arrive at Parklane at 11am only to find out that their flight was delayed. Cursing because I left the house without makeup on and my hair all stringy, I checked in myself and settled at their room. Minutes after Mom and Dad arrived and I squealed with joy. Good thing the bathroom has a blow dryer or my mood wouldn’t have changed. Lol. I can’t believe they’re here! I can’t believe I’d be able to save money for two days! haha. Joke lang momsy.
We had lunch at Gerry’s Grill and shopped afterwards. Mostly, I shopped for my sisters who wanted havaianas (eee, those slippers again hihi) and something for grandma and then for the little babies of Bernie. I’m such a generous person on my birthday. I even treated mom to the salon but I charged it and I didn’t have change to give tips so she still paid for it. Bad. Bad me.
Dinner was at the hotel and their buffet was delish! A smörgåsbord of fusion dishes all laden out to pat. But eek, their band is totally anal. Who sings, “Country road…. take me home… “ at a five star hotel?
We stayed at the bar and while mom and dad retired to our room, I went up to the 4th floor where the hotel’s pool was. The entire floor offered the best view of the city. My heart stopped. It was just time with the rhythmic beat of the contruction going on downstairs. Phooey. I took my drink with me to the nearby lounge chair and at 12am, the texts and the calls came through. Happy birthday, Tin, their messages read, may you have more birthdays and more men to come. Funny. I took a swig of my drink, toasted it with the city, and bade her good night. I slept beside my mom and woke up four hours after to breakfast at the hotel, and a visit to St. ñino church.
Tuesday, October 3 11am.
Happy birthday to me! My friends left for CDO last night and they called while they were at the boat. My other friends at home are also celebrating with Ting, who also is having the same birthday as me. People from the office are waayy snoring at that time. I assumed no one will be able to make it for lunch so at 1pm, I had lunch at Shang, Mactan with my parents and Vice-Governor Greg Sanchez and his wife who were generous enough to lend us their space gear for the entire duration of my parent’s stay. No, I didn’t tell him I was there. Pretty certain he was working at that time but I’m also certain he wasn’t assigned at Cowrie Cove. Trust him to ruin my concentration on my birthday, I couldn’t taste what I was eating I was fidgeting the whole time. Scr*w him. The governor offered a tour of their house which we had to politely decline because I don’t know, I can’t take enough of little Mactan knowing he is just soo near.
We had to head back to Cebu at 6pm because mom and dad are going back home at 9pm. I never get to see my parents after I drove them to their boat at exactly 8pm. I was depressed because I missed them already. Mom ranting away because I haven’t been eating well? Very much desireable. I went home and sulked and wept and ate Brownies Unlimited. Because its my birthday, allow me –my hormones had to attest also – to rant –and don’t trivialize my rantings because it is afterall, my beerday — (which by the way, sweethearts, I’m registered at Rustan’s/Essenses and the Beauty Bar hihi. So its never too late…)
…I haven’t seen a pc or an address bar for days, I even forgot my login!
…I can’t believe I miss working. I mumbled my opening spiel subconsciously…
…its been a year since I’ve been in a relationship clearly God has something good –
…I was stumped when Dad asked me what I want for my birthday.
…I was more stumped when Dad asked me where’s the best place to eat.
…I missed my CDO friends. We would have been in Starmart at this time, getting drunked at 12am and then Hector would come up with a toast and then Chito would race against someone else and at least one would be splakked.
…I am glad that I bought stuff for other people.
…I hate that you’re effin’ EMO on your day
…I missed the Rockstar monday.
…My OUTBOX is full..
…Cebu is the best city, I had to witness that outside the hotel window
…Heart said I’d ditch them for a guy but she texted me may you have more guys to COME…
…I haven’t seen my apartment since Friday, something broke into my routine. Very refreshing.
…I stayed up till 12am to wait for the bombard of texts.
…My dad let me sleep beside my mom. Aww.
…Persia was sick. He wanted me to come over. Can’t.
…Chi Span texted at 12am. He has no idea its my day.
…My mom and my ex’s grandmother met up one time and his grandmother missed me. Awww.
…My dad asked for water when he saw the house. Cardiac? Almost.
ain’t this pretty? momsy gives
